This month was a new experience and one which reinforced the power of a network.  MTA had a proposal to submit and we were short on time.  The proposal was a technical response to an RFP.  During a friendly conversation with a contact, she offered to help.  No hesitation.  I sent a draft over which came back greatly improved within 24 hours and the proposal was submitted  two days ahead of schedule. The lesson here is foster relationships and work with menches.  They make your life better and improve the performance of everyone in your circle.  I have yet to see anyone able to accomplish something great without the help, participation and encouragement from others.  And be mindful it should always be a two-way street.
